Kept getting perpetual redirects after installing WordPress 3.1. After a little bit of digging, found this link which fixed the problem. Blog – back in business. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/permalink-fix-disable-canonical-redirects-pack/installation/

Moving to new servers is now always completely painless. Blog appears to be installed correctly.
