The Blue Hole
In Santa Rosa, New Mexico, we found a spot simply called “The Blue Hole.” We decided to check it out as it was on our way to Albuquerque anyway. From Wikipedia: The Blue Hole of Santa Rosa is a circular, bell-shaped pool east of Santa Rosa, New Mexico that is one of the most popular dive destinations in the US for SCUBA diving and training. The Blue Hole is an artesian well that was once used as a fish hatchery. It is a clear blue body of water with a constant 64 °F (18 °C) temperature and constant inflow of 3000 gallons per minute. While the surface is only 80 feet (24 m) in diameter, it expands to a diameter of 130 feet (40 m) at the bottom.
Molly is ready to go scuba diving!!
It was definitely a small hole of water and it was definitely blue and incredibly clear water. It was 80+ feet deep and you could see everything on the bottom.
This tree was growing around the side of the pool and I thought it was very interesting.
This dog was running around and I don’t know if he belonged to anyone or was just hanging around. But, I thought he was very pretty.
When we left The Blue Hole, we passed a very pretty church with the sun right behind it and I thought it was so pretty!
I am having so much fun on this trip!!!
